Established as a Spiritualist community in 1894,Cassadaga consists of approximately 57 acres with 55 residences.
About 25 of the Camp’s residents are mediums who offer counseling from their homes.
Designated a Historic District on the National Register Of Historic Places in 1991, the Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association
is the oldest active religious community in the Southeastern United States.
Spiritualism holds something for everyone,
no matter what their religion or where they are on their spiritual path. The Camp welcomes not only believers,
but the curious and skeptical, as well.
April 12th 2003 we attended the Ghost tracker workshop at the Cassadaga hotel. We arrived in the morning and listened
to Jeff Reynolds tell us of the do’s and don’t of ghost hunting and gave us some great advice. Around dusk he took us on
a tour of the hotel and Spirit pond which is down the road. The pictures below are from the workshop adventure/investigation.

The whole town is said to have paranormal activity. It is thought that the reason is the vast communication with
spirits through all the mediums residing in the town. Activity is prominent at the towns hotel and several stories
of Spirits that still reside there include one who pulls hair, one who projects emotional transfer on people and a
portal in the downstairs main hallway. Spirit pond also is said to be active, could it be that the church sits on
the waters edge or that the residence have their ashes spread there after they pass away.
